Nov 11    Veterans Day:  Wreath Ceremony at the Courthouse at 11 AM, Manning, Summerton & Turbeville, SC:  Veterans Day

If bad weather:

Turbeville — ? East Clarendon Middle High School Gymnasium, 1171 Pope Street. Program begins at 10:15 a.m. and welcomes all veterans and community members.

Summerton — ? Summerton Baptist Church (relocated from Pink Dogwood Garden Club Park). Service begins at 11:00 a.m. with guest speaker Representative Fawn Pedalino, hosted by the American Legion Post 35 and the Pink Dogwood Garden Club.

Manning — ? American Legion Post 68, 552 Sunset Drive. Indoor ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m., led by Post Commander Mark McCormick

Francis Marion Symposium, The 24th: Oct 16-17, 2026

The prime topic area’s focus is on Marion, explanations of the engagements, the war in South Carolina, the Southern Campaigns, “The Times of Francis Marion, 1732-1795”. Gen. Francis Marion played a major role in the American Revolution.  Many of these engagements took place in the Clarendon County area.
