May 17, 1954  Briggs vs. Elliott and four similar cases were decided by the U.S. Supreme Court under the umbrella of the Brown vs. Board of Education ruling ending school segregation.

The prime topic area’s focus is on Marion, explanations of the engagements, the war in South Carolina, the Southern Campaigns.  

Gen. Francis Marion played a major role in the American Revolution.  Many of these engagements took place in the Clarendon County area.
